When I got the devastating call from UIC Motor
Pool to go to Emergency that Friday, Feb 22, 2008, it was just
after I had hung up with Alan...
We had just talked about the new business and
his support.
We said all those loving things that two
people who have shared love and life, sorrow and joy say
when things seem to be going 'your way'.
I told him I loved him - he told me the
same. We were so looking forward to sharing our evening
together after having been apart 3 days.
There was a tremendous amount of grace about
his passing -- even though we don't like the outcome.
It is my hope that between this website and the
Memorial created at the University of Illinois at
Chicago, as well as the memorial at the Casa de Santa Maria in San Luis
Colorado, that we will keep not only his memory but his
spirit and the joy of living he shared with us
alive.
Please check out the other pages on the site to
learn more about Alan and the memorials established in his
honor.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me and
our family in our loss. While this site cannot do what we'd all
like - bring BIG AL physically back to us - we can continue
what he started... Enjoying each day we are given, bring a
smile to each other and remember a BIG man who left a BIG
impact in our lives.
With Gratitude...

Cherise
